Community Violence & Healing: An Evening with Roberto Cintli Rodriguez and the Institute of Chicana/o/x Psychology

Join us for an evening with Roberto Cintli Rodriguez as he discusses his most recent book Yolqui, a Warrior Summoned from the Spirit World: Testimonios on Violence, published by U of Arizona Press.

“This book makes evident the links between colonial violence against Red-Black-Brown bodies to police violence in our communities today….Like the Nahuatl yolqui, this book is intended as a means of healing, offering a footprint going back to the origins of violence, and, more important, a way forward.”

Manuel X. Zamarripa & Jessica Tlazotiani of the Institute of Chicana/o Psychology will also discuss the role of a Chicanx Liberation Psychology in addressing community and historical trauma as a decolonized approach to well-being.
